About Me

Hi, Iā€™m Chandler Severson and this is my web portfolio. I have a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a Minor in Business Administration from Southern Oregon University.

I like video games and programming, and I'm generally a pretty big nerd. In my free time, besides gaming, I enjoy learning new technologies and languages that interest me. I have taught myself Perl, Python, Javascript, Unity3D, and Unreal Engine 4. I enjoy learning about theoretical computer science and have a distinct interest in artificial intelligence and machine learning, which I hope to pursue graduate school for. I really enjoy finding solutions to complicated programs and working through those tough issues with others.

I am currently employed as a Software Engineer at Shasta Networks, a healthcare software company located in Ashland, OR. The company provides managed Integration services for the Healthcare industry. Shasta builds Interfaces for clients and develops their own in-house Interface Engine. During any day, I am expected to complete a variety of tasks. Read More...

Help Desk Technician

A typical day involved providing prompt responses to technology-related questions from students and staff. I troubleshot, diagnosed, and resolved problems relating to user accounts, the general operation of personal computers, and more specific issues regarding programs and personal devices. Additionally, I meticulously documented incoming issues to create a log to be referenced by other technicians. I always tried to be a rockstar communicator while assisting others and actively tried to translate my technical knowledge into actionable direction for users.

Projects and Papers

ZAStream was my Senior Year Capstone project in Computer Science. This project was developed with my capstone partner Yiwei Zheng. It is a live video streaming website similar to Twitch.tv, Facebook Live, Ustream.tv, etc...

Development of this project helped reinforce the concepts of Waterfall and Agile development, software planning and requirement gathering, testing, web development, and MVC principles, among many other things.
